Summer Art Programs at Vine Gogh Studio
Every summer we offer a small lineup of art programs for kids who enjoy working with a variety materials, learning new processes, and spending time in a studio environment. These sessions are guided, hands-on, and intentionally kept small so kids have room to focus and create with all the one-on-one attention they need.
We’re excited about this year’s lineup because it includes new projects alongside returning favorites with new twists, all shaped by what works best in our studio. For 7 years we’ve done summer art programs that kids love.
Below is our full summer schedule, listed by date. Each program runs independently, so families can choose what fits their interests and schedules. Two day programs are $85 and 4 day programs are $175. Stripe has options to allow most people to pay in installments.
Comics & Characters Lab
June 9 and 10
This two-day program introduces students to character design and visual storytelling. We’ll work on expressions, poses, simple plot ideas, inking, and layout, then pull those pieces together into a short comic scene or mini chapter.
Led by Nathan with Chris assisting. A good fit for kids who enjoy drawing, comics, manga, or building stories through images.
Messy Makers
June 11 and 12
Two days devoted to materials and processes that are fun to explore and hard to manage at home. Projects include paper mâché, slime, finger painting, and large texture work.
The studio stays structured and supervised, with plenty of room for experimentation.
Fun and Functional Boho Art
June 16 and 17
This program focuses on creating several functional art pieces using dye, fiber, beads, and decorative materials. Students work through a variety of projects and leave with items they can use or display. Macrame, sola wood flowers, ice dying totes, sparkling sun catchers and more.
You Have Me in Stitches
June 18 and 19
A mixed media program combining watercolor painting with beginner hand stitching. Students learn a small set of stitches, create a painted piece designed for stitching, and finish their work in an embroidery hoop.
This is a quieter program that suits kids who enjoy detailed, focused work in a small group setting. We allow breaks for those who don’t do well doing the same thing for hours – take some time to paint/draw then go back to your main project. It’s very zen and easy going pace.
Art Around the World
June 23 through 26
A four-day program exploring art techniques inspired by six different countries. Students work with paint, pattern, building, weaving, and sound-based materials across the week. Picasso paintings, rain sticks and more are planned with brief, interesting facts about the cultures we explore through art.
The final day includes a small global food tasting connected to the regions explored.
Wearable Art
July 9 and 10
Students design and create wearable pieces including painted or dyed clothing, jewelry, and accessories. Projects are planned before materials are used so finished pieces feel intentional and wearable not just thrown together.
Miniature Worlds on Display Curio Cabinet
July 16 and 17
Students design and build a miniature world inside a display-style curio cabinet. Using paint, clay, wood, and mixed materials, they create a detailed scene that comes together over two days. We are laser cutting the cabinets in house and assembling them. Your student gets to let their imagination decorate and fill them!
Pro Paint Lab
July 21 through 24
A four-day painting studio working with watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. Students spend time on color mixing, layering, and brush control while completing multiple studies and finished paintings. This is great for young artists who really want to grow and explore different painting styles and learn art fundamentals in an informal and fun way.
Fantasy World Builders
July 28 and 29
In this two-day program, students build a fantasy environment inside a shallow frame using paint, clay, wood, moss, and natural textures. The project is built from the base up, with attention to layout and structure. It’s very tactile and satisfying for those who love hands on building and creativity.
A quick note
Class sizes are limited and some programs fill early. If you’re unsure which session is the best fit, feel free to reach out before registering.
