Resin can be a messy and expensive hobby to explore on your own—this course is a great way to try it before committing to costly resin, additives, and molds. Over four weeks, you’ll learn both UV and regular resin techniques. All materials are provided. Perfect for beginners or anyone curious about resin art! We'll complete 4 projects.
Week 1: Introduction & UV Resin Jewelry
- Learn resin safety, tools, and techniques.
- Create a piece of jewelry (necklace or earrings) using molds
- Focus on precision pouring, adding glitter and flakes, removing gaps and curing UV resin.
Week 2: Laser-Cut Suncatchers with UV Resin
- Explore mixing mica powders, alcohol inks, and placing additives.
- Create a vibrant laser-cut suncatcher with multidimensionality that gives the appearance of stained glass.
- Practice layering techniques for depth and color blending.
Week 3: Ocean Wave or Photo-Embedded Coaster
- Learn to mix and use regular epoxy resin to embed objects or create layered effects.
- Choose between an ocean wave coaster or a photo-embedded coaster to create but learn techniques used for both.
- Focus on achieving a smooth finish and troubleshooting techniques.
Week 4: Crushed Glass Resin Small Mosaic
- Learn how resin enhances texture and shine in mixed media projects.
- Create a small crushed glass mosaic with resin as the finishing coat.
- Focus on final casting techniques and achieving a polished look.
This class is great for the budding resin artist or hobbyist looking to explore before committing to the art.
