Course Overview:

Invest in yourself and kick off the new year with a creative reset! Our 6-week self-care art class helps you relax and grow through simple, yet deeply engaging art techniques. Whether you're someone who insists you "aren't that creative" or you have some art experience, this class is designed to ease stress, boost confidence, and tap into more of your creative potential. Each week brings a new activity to help you unwind, find clarity and improve/enhance your creativity.

The techniques you’ll learn can be used anytime to enhance problem solving skills, relieve stress, and gain clarity in your daily life.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Art Journaling: Personalize your own journal cover using altered art techniques to create a meaningful space for personal expression.
  • Zen Doodling & Neurographica: Learn how these meditative drawing techniques help rewire your brain, improving whole-brain thinking and focus, which can enhance creativity and problem-solving in your everyday life.
  • Abstract Painting & Color: Explore how color and abstract shapes can help express and process emotions in a gentle way. 
  • Mindful Creativity: Engage in fun, relaxing exercises designed to help you slow down, focus, and connect with your higher self. 

Projects You’ll Complete:

Throughout the course, you’ll create a variety of art projects and use many different mediums.

  • Week 1: Personalize your art journal cover using altered art techniques (decoupage, paint, and collage).
  • Week 2: Create a zen doodle design focused on mindfulness and relaxation. It's a great "brain balancer"
  • Week 3: Complete a neurographica drawing to unlock creative thinking and problem-solving. It's a fun way to look at your brain patterns! 
  • Week 4: Use color and abstract painting to express emotions, release tension and enhance your mood.
  • Week 5: Create a meditative art piece and get in a flow state - this process art is where we tap into our brains peak capacity. 
  • Week 6: Final project: collage/mixed media journal page that combines your favorite techniques from the course into a unique reflection of your personal journey.

Bonus Resources:

As part of this course, you’ll receive exclusive downloadable resources, including a Zentangle pattern sheet and detailed instructions on how to start a neurographic art piece or combine both techniques into a calming, zen artwork. You'll also get a curated list of art supplies and tools we love and use in our studio and handouts with great art journaling prompts to keep you engaged and exploring further.

Limited to 10 students for a stress-free and personalized experience.
