Murder Mystery Parties at VineGogh
Every guest gets a character. Everyone has a motive. Someone at the party is the murderer.
Choose Your Mystery
We currently have two complete murder mystery themes. Both are original VineGogh mysteries written by our family, and both use the same easy three-round game format with characters, clues, accusations and a changing murderer.
A Murder at Marwood Manor
Sir Marwood is hosting a cocktail party at his manor when he is found dead in the wine cellar before the evening has properly begun. The problem is that nearly everyone had a reason to want him gone.
This theme leans into the classic country-manor mystery: suspicious guests, secrets, motives and plenty of opportunities to accuse the wrong person with great confidence.
Murder, Music & Milkshakes
Step into the 1950s with a cast that can include poodle-skirted cheerleaders, musicians, diner staff, greasers and even Roswell-era alien enthusiasts. It is a completely different story, cast and set of clues from Marwood Manor.
For in-studio parties, we turn the studio and bar into a retro diner setting and can serve themed drinks such as cherry Cokes, adult cherry Cokes and milkshakes along with the food and mystery.
Both themes can be booked for 8–18 players and both can travel to your location. Off-site parties do not include alcohol service from VineGogh.
Before the Party
Invitations & RSVPs
Each guest receives an invitation and RSVP date so we know who is officially playing.
Character Assignments
Once the guest list is set, we assign roles and send character information and costume suggestions.
Time to Prepare
Please book at least two weeks in advance so there is enough time to invite guests, collect RSVPs and assign everyone a role.
What Happens That Night
- We greet each player and provide instructions, a notebook for sleuthing, suggested questions and the information you need to play your role.
- Nick or Chris explains the game, answers questions and starts the evening with character introductions and opening evidence.
- The mystery unfolds through three rounds of questioning and clues.
- At the end, everyone makes an accusation before the murderer is revealed.
- Guests vote for best costume, actor and detective, with certificates awarded at the finale.
You do not have to be an actor. The game gives you plenty of structure, so even quieter guests can participate without having to invent an entire performance on the spot.

The murderer changes, and we periodically add new characters so returning players are not simply repeating the same game.
We can also bring the murder mystery to your location. Off-site murder mysteries do not include alcohol service from VineGogh.
Murder mystery parties are a standalone event and do not include an art project.
