During this comprehensive workshop we will explore a variety of journaling techniques, styles and tools. You'll learn to conquer your fear of the blank page and create a safe place for personal expression that can help you no matter what your goals are.
Use your journal to plan your day and get organized, as an outlet to track a larger goal and keep your motivation high, as a bullet journal to keep tabs on daily routines/goals, or simply as a place to express your emotions and creativity without fear of judgment.
We will help you find a journal style that works for you and your unique situation.
Art journals are for anyone - even those who claim to have "no artistic talent". Art journals tap into both the creative and analytical sides of the brain and promote cognitive health, aid problem solving skills and help you manage stress.
They are a great way to see and track progress at a glance and stay motivated.
Amanda Marti, LPC from Believe you Can Counseling and Education Services in Breese is partnering with us for this workshop to discuss the various ways journaling can help you with your particular goals. She'll use various exercises that help you open up and express yourself more fully.
Each attendee with receive a beautiful, spiral bound hard-cover 8x10 journal. You may create directly in your journal the day of class - or use the loose mixed media papers we have available for our lessons and incorporate them later if you wish.
We'll explore many tools and mediums on practice paper so that you'll have the opportunity to see what you enjoy the most.
We'll cover hand lettering, zen doodling, bullet journaling, mind mapping, tissue paper bleeding, and collage. A variety of pens, markers, paints, inks and other materials will be available for you to use. Please come to the workshop with a favorite quote in mind.
