We are conveniently located in Highland, Illinois just minutes from I-70. We are close to everything, yet maintain a small, hometown feel.
Our convenient location is easy-to-find and a great meeting place for friends all over the Metro St. Louis and surrounding areas.
We offer a welcoming atmosphere that is perfect for hosting private events or just hanging out with friends. Our cozy interior decorated with local artwork provides a great backdrop for any occasion
You’ll find us on the square at the corner of Main & Laurel. Our studio is located in a historic building that was originally a general store. Guests love our inviting, cozy space with its original tin ceilings and warm, welcoming vintage vibe.
We have a great view of the park and are a quick walk from dining, shopping and the Lory theater. Stop in and make a day of it!

Murder Mystery -

This will be our final publicly listed murder mystery until late summer or early fall so if you haven't done one yet and want to participate this is the time!
A murder most FUN!
With a variety of devious characters, exciting plot twists, and unexpected outcomes, you're sure to be kept on your toes.
Motive, means, and opportunity
Our mysteries come with a variety of suspects - each with their own motive, means, and opportunity - so you can test your own detective skills and find out who did it. It could even be you because every character has a plausible motive.
An experience like no other
Come out for an evening of fun as you become part of an immersive experience that puts you in the middle of all the action.
A game of endless possibilities
Every time you play Murder Mystery, it's a different outcome! With new suspects and secrets revealed every time, you'll never have the same experience twice.
How it works:
- You register and pay for a seat.
- Once we hit the registration deadline, we send out a role sign-up sheet to all of our registered guests.
- You pick a character and we send you a bio, costume suggestions and a bit of introductory info.
- As you come into the event, we will greet you, hand you a script and a slip of paper that gives you some top-secret info.
- When everyone arrives, we explain game play, do character introductions and present the opening evidence.
- During the first 2 rounds of game play you mingle with your fellow guests, enjoy a glass of wine and great food. You ask a series of questions to help you try to deduce who done it.
- For round 3 we bring out dessert!
- Finally after 3 rounds of evidence, questioning, food, wine and side-splitting laughter - we do the accusation round and then the reveal!
- At the end of the night several of our guests go home with certificates for best costume, best actor, and best sleuthing capabilities.
Your $40 ticket includes game play, one drink, food and dessert and most importantly an unforgettable evening of laughter and game play. A photo backdrop with props is yours to use throughout the game to ensure your group never forgets their night at "Marwood Manor"

Acrylic 101 Beyond Paint and Sip – Level Up Your Painting Skills -

Level up your painting game beyond the traditional paint and sip. This series of lessons is perfect for absolute beginners or those who have some painting experience but want to explore further.
Gain valuable experience without spending a fortune on materials and supplies that may not work for you.
You'll Learn:
- An overview of painting techniques and materials used by professionals.
- Explore projects that "go deeper" than a 2 hour paint and sip.
- We are capping this at 10 people - relax in a judgment free, encouraging atmosphere with plenty of one-on-one attention.
- Get creative with different types of acrylic paints and learn techniques such as blending, shading, highlighting, perspective, etc.
- Explore a variety of brushes and brush techniques: stippling, scumbling, dry brushing etc.
- Dive into texture mediums and finishes to add more dimension and visual interest to your artwork. We'll have fun with an impasto technique that mimics oil painting without the mess.
- Experiment with non-brush techniques for a variety of textures and looks: foil, rags, sponges, knives, bubble wrap etc.
- Learn different methods to get your idea onto a canvas/surface even if you don't know how to draw!
- Master color and learn to create custom colors (save $$$ and expand your palette)
- Paint on various surfaces with confidence!
- All materials are included
- We provide everything you need to succeed! Go home with a new project each week. We provide the canvases/surfaces. YOU choose what to paint.
Your fee also includes an extensive handout that outlines everything we cover in the classes so you can continue your painting journey at home after the lessons are over.
Bring a snack if you like, but outside drinks are not permitted. We have water, soda, coffee, tea, wine, and cocktails available for purchase.
Classes are suitable for older children with an interest in art who are attending with an adult. We'll keep it family friendly for those who may want to make this a "mom and me" or "dad and me" activity.

Glow Paint & Black Lights Paint Party Grownups Only! -

Grab your fanciest neon duds and head over to VineGogh for an evening of black lights and neon glow painting.
Choose from any of our "under the sea" templates (jellyfish, sea turtle, mermaid, seahorse, dolphins) or go rogue and paint your canvas however you like!
We'll turn out the studio lights, put on the black lights, black out the windows and create a psychedelic paint experience you'll never forget!
Wear neon and you'll glow too!
Spend a fun evening listening to some great music while we get our glow on!

Doll House Summer Art Program -

We will design, build, decorate, and fully furnish a dollhouse and outdoor space.
From blueprints to building, this week long project is designed to teach patience, persistence and reward for effort. Based on past experience, this summer program is best suited to ages 9+ who have the ability to focus for up to 30 minutes at a time on the same task.
Previous dollhouse attendees loved the end result after a challenging week of hard work! 🙂 We built furniture, painted, made hardwood floors, custom art, and more.
The houses in the images below are similar to what we are doing this time. Ours will be placed on a base where your child will also build the yard/outdoor space. Will there be a pool? A garden? A cool patio or lots of trees? A challenging week for your child to create the mini-space of their dreams.

Messy Makers Summer Program 2023 -

We welcome all young makers 6+ who want to have a week of hands-on messy experiences to join us and learn a lot about art while exploring a variety of mediums and textures.
This art exploration program is a fun learning experience and we create a variety of projects throughout the week. When we say "messy makers" we mean it, so old clothes and shoes are highly suggested.
Join us for a week dedicated to messy but marvelous projects including papier mache, air dry clay, finger painting, decoupage, dyeing, paper making, and more. Your child will learn a lot about art while having a great time making a mess! Our littles loved this program last year and their parents were super glad they sent them here to do it!
$175 includes all project materials, t-shirt, daily snack/drink, and an ice cream party on Friday! Ages 6 - 9

Board Game Design Summer Art Program Ages 8 – 11 - Summer Art Programs

Summer art programs at our studio are always popular. We have small class sizes and provide a great deal of personal attention and encouragement to every child who spends a week with us. Each game session only has 10 seats available so early registration is highly recommended.
For this fun program we are going to spend a full week playing, designing, building and testing custom board games!
We will actually laser cut and machine pieces and other elements so your game will be durable - not just done on paper.
By the end of the program your child will have created something unique complete with game play instructions, all pieces, the board, and custom packaging!
- We start by choosing a theme (some examples might be under the sea, treasure hunting, etc), then we determine the objective of the game (get somewhere, collect points, find something, first to cross the finish line etc) create challenges, determine how many players the game is for, if there are advantages/disadvantages in the mix etc.
- Next we plan out characters/pieces to support the theme and design our board layout.
- We'll design the board on paper first including the setting, start and end locations, action spaces etc.
- After that we write down the rules and do the final board/pieces.
- Our final steps are to design/create a custom box for the game and to test it out with our fellow attendees!
On the final day, we will have a "game gallery" for parents to come see (and maybe even play!) the games our attendees have created. We'll learn about their creative process and how their games work - so please make some time to attend that if you can. We'll do it from 3pm to 4pm on the final day.
We have two versions of this program that are age appropriate for two different groups. Ages 8 to 11 and ages 12+ up. Please ensure you are registering for the correct program! This one is for the younger kids.

Create a Comic or Illustrated Story Book Mini Program - Summer Art Programs

Spend 2 jam-packed, fun-filled days learning to plan, draft, write, draw, edit and "publish" a comic or illustrated short story.
This session is for ages 8 to 11. (we have another one for ages 12+)
Most kids are natural story tellers so tapping into this when they are young can spark a lifetime of creative thinking!
By the end of the 2 day session your child will have developed a full story board/outline, characters, story ideas, some comic strips and possibly more depending on how motivated they are.
We'll explore many mediums - including digital, traditional and a variety of art tools.
Learn how to get designs/ideas out of our head and onto the page and how to create characters and stories that engage others. Your kiddos will create their own unique characters! This isn't about simply recreating or copying a favorite character - it's taking characteristics of characters we know, looking at what makes them special and developing something unique and personal based on those preferences.
If your child loves anime and butterflies - they might create an anime style creature with butterfly wings etc. We'll do activities that spark creativity: mind mapping, AI prompts, games, and collaboration activities to get the creative juices flowing.
After that they'll be given all the tools and encouragement they need to create some comic panels and present them at the end of day 2 (if they want to, we don't force that) but we thought it might be fun to give them the option of posting a little gallery of their work! If your child chooses to participate you'll be able to come see the gallery at the end of the day (3 to 3:30) on the final day.

Create a Comic Book or Illustrated Story Ages 12+ -

Spend 2 jam-packed, fun-filled days learning to plan, draft, write, draw, edit and "publish" a comic or illustrated short story.
This session is for ages 12 and up (we have another one for younger kids)
By the end of the 2 day session your child will have developed a full story board/outline, characters, story ideas, some comic strips and possibly more depending on how motivated they are.
We'll explore many mediums - including digital, traditional and a variety of art tools.
We'll focus on planning, drawing techniques, and participate in a variety of activities, games and more that help spark and expand the creative process. This is not a program for copying or drawing existing characters etc. We will help our attendees create their own unique characters based off of things they enjoy about others. Inspiration - not imitation is the goal!
At the end of day 2 we plan to have a gallery of our work so that parents and other supporters can come view them. We'll host the gallery from 3 to 4pm on the second day.

3D Diorama Summer Art Mini Program -

Build a scene from scratch with extreme detail and multiple materials - challenge your creative thinking and come up with ways to design and build a 3D scene from the ground up.
Theme ideas include: "My perfect room" "favorite creature and habitat" "favorite place" "fairy garden" etc.
Whatever you come up with, we'll help you create a mixed media masterpiece using a variety of mediums: clay, paint, decoupage, found items, papier mache and more.
This 2 day intensive project is a great way to build patience and persistence as you create something great from the planning stage all the way through to the final result!
At the end of the second day we'll have a gallery for all of our makers to show off their creativity and talk about their pieces. (optional but we hope all the kids will want to participate and show off their work!)
Sack lunch and water bottle required both days. We will also provide a snack/drink each day in the afternoon.
We will have 2 sessions for this one for ages 8 to 11 and another for ages 12+ up

What projects do you have available now
Our projects change seasonally, right now we have a variety of Christmas projects in addition to our regular projects – paintings, signs, door rounds, wood cutouts, interchangeables etc. The best thing to do is to come into our studio to see what is available or sign up for a workshop listed on our calendar.
I’m interested in learning basics of watercolor. Do you have a class? Cost?
We do classes in a variety of mediums. After the first of the year we plan to re-introduce watercolor. I am not sure the cost yet, but most of our classes are in the 25 to 35 price range and include all your materials.
Is there an easier way to find your classes than to scroll thru everything? You used to have it on a calendar which was way easier to find stuff
