Our location in Highland, Illinois, just a short hop from I-70, offers the perfect blend of convenience and small-town charm. It’s an easy-to-find gathering place for friends from Metro St. Louis and the surrounding areas. Our cozy, art-filled interior sets a casual tone whether you’re hosting an event or catching up with friends.
Plus, we’re positioned on the main road through Highland, just across from two of the town’s favorite restaurants. After spending time with us, the local shops and boutiques of the town square are less than a half-mile away.

Halloween Porch Leaner Workshop! Choose from 5 pre-cut designs, then paint and stain your own unique porch leaner. The designs are laser-cut, providing a 3D look sure to make your porch pop!
Board sizes are roughly 4.5 to 5 feet tall and 10-11 inches wide.
$45 includes all materials for your project. This one takes 2 to 3 hours to complete.

After School Art Club Drawing -

This month's after school art club is all about drawing. We'll use different drawing pencils and explore several techniques while creating fun drawings and illustrations. Craft fun characters, creatures, animals and objects!
Ages 8+
$80 fee includes all materials, instruction, and a snack/water for the entire month of October (we'll have packages of crackers or fruit snacks etc. but you're welcome to send a snack as well if you have special dietary needs)
To provide enough one on one attention, we are limiting our class size to 10 kids per month so early registration is recommended.
The meet dates are on Wednesdays: October 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th
We do have discounts available if you are attending more than one month or if you have siblings attending. The discount is $5 off your second month if you're returning - sibling discount is $5 off per month per child (2 children attend for $75 each) If you qualify for a discount CONTACT US before registering so we can bill you and give you the discount. you can email us at admin@highlandcrafts.net

Friday the 13th Murder Mystery at Highland Emporium! - murder mystery

We are excited to be teaming up with the Highland Emporium to present this Friday the 13th Murder Mystery!
Get ready to immerse yourself in an evening filled with suspense, laughter, and mystery. What better time than Friday the 13th to enjoy a fun night out eating, drinking, acting and sleuthing for one of our Fall murder mysteries.
It's cocktail time at Marwood Manor, but before the first toast, disaster strikes. Our host, Sir Marwood, is found dead! As the manor turns into a crime scene, the real game begins. Was it a friend? A foe? Or even...you? The murderer changes every time, making each playthrough a unique whodunit!
Once you sign up, we'll assign you a character and suggest some killer costume ideas. But feel free to let your creativity run wild! Upon arrival, your evening hosts (Nick & Chris from VineGogh and Carol from the Emporium) will provide you with everything you need to delve into your role, including a character script, sleuthing notebook, and a list of character-specific questions.
Our murder mystery unfolds in three acts, each filled with cheesy drama, laughter, and plenty of surprises. Throughout the evening, you will mingle with your fellow suspects over cocktails, wine, tables of food and dessert.
Remember, your participation is vital to the story. Please ensure that you can attend, or have a backup who can step in your shoes. We can't refund or credit your ticket, as the event hinges on each character being present. However, should we have to cancel the event, we will issue full refunds.
So, don your costume, bring your appetite, get into character, and join us for a night you'll never forget! And don't forget to pose for some photo ops too!
In addition to food, we provide each guest one complimentary beverage (bottled water/ soda or the evenings featured cocktail) After that, a cash bar is available for you.
Food/Dessert
Carol from the Emporium will be providing food from her vendors for this special event. We'll be sure to have a wide variety of foods on hand that everyone can enjoy.

Art in the Park Demo -

Our art in the park demo will be 10-2 on Saturday 10/14 and full day on 10/15.
We are creating a collaborative art piece and invite the public to participate in the making of it. When finished and assembled it will be a modern interpretation of the classic Van Gogh piece "Starry Night" and will eventually be installed somewhere in Highland.
This is a big challenge and a thrill for us to take on so please come out and show support for all the artists and demonstrators who pour their talent and love into their work.

Join us on Wednesdays in November. Please note we will not meet on Nov 22nd due to the Thanksgiving holiday. We will meet the 1st, 8th, 15th, and 29th.
During this month we'll explore different clay projects - air dry, polymer, paper clay and even our own homemade clays. This will give your child some experience working with a variety of textures and we'll use different clay tools and techniques to make different projects throughout the month.

Craft Your Custom 3D Cutting Board Sign for a Cause
This is a great project to personalize and gift to your favorite chef. Spend a fun day out, get a gift and give a gift - yay!
When: November 4th, 11am - 7pm
How It Works:
- Design Selection: Choose your preferred design from the options provided.
- Registration: Secure your spot by registering and making your payment.
- Personalization: *IMPORTANT* Include your design choice AND desired personalization (e.g., a name or brief phrase) when registering. Remember to double-check the spelling. On the registration form it will say "Any questions or comments?" this is where you place this information.
- Stop in on November 4th: Visit VineGogh Studio (419 Walnut) anytime between 11am - 7pm on the day of the fundraiser.
- Create Your Masterpiece: Our skilled team will be on hand to guide you through staining, painting, and assembling your unique project. You have the creative freedom to choose any colors of paint or stain so let your imagination run wild.
Special Treats:
Enjoy delightful drink specials, including our signature "kicking cocoa or coffee" and $5 glasses of select wines.

Squishy Sunday Squishmallow Paint Party -

For this fun event your child will pull a squishmallow from our mystery box. We'll paint 8x10 portraits of our new friends while enjoying upbeat music, snacks and a drink. (cookies or cupcakes, chips and Sprite or Caprisun)
Ages 5+ up are welcome to attend. Anyone 6 and under must be assisted by an adult. Children 7 and up may be dropped off however a parent must bring them inside and sign them in and out. Children who are dropped off must be picked up promptly at 1pm. Parents are welcome to stay if they choose. There is space in our bar and retail area to sit and relax.

We're taking you back in time to the 1950s in the charming desert town of Orion Ridge.
Join us as our studio/bar transform into Johnny's Jukebox, a happening little diner and nightclub. Spend a fun evening playing one of our fun characters while enjoying great music, food, dessert, and drinks!
How It Works:
- Register and Pay: Sign up for the event before November 1st
- Role Assignment: After registration closes or all of our spots fill, you'll receive a role signup sheet via email.
- Preparation: Once you select your role, we'll email you a character bio and costume/prop suggestions.
- At the Event: Your ticket includes food and 2 free drinks
- Contests: Compete for prizes in categories like best costume, best actor, and best detective.
- Extras: Enjoy our special 'grown-up' milkshakes, available for an additional $5.
Important Note: Our murder mysteries hinge on each participant's involvement, ensuring an immersive and thrilling experience for all. Sunday Squishmallow Paint Party -

This one will be from 1 to 3pm.
Each participant gets to pull a squishmallow from our mystery box. Then we’ll paint a portrait of them & enjoy some fun snacks too! We'll have cupcakes or cookies, small bags of chips and Sprite or Caprisun. If your child has special dietary considerations please send them with their own snack/drink and let us know.

Need to relax after Thanksgiving? Join us for a relaxing afternoon or evening of artistry at VineGogh.
Create a set of nine 3.5 to 4 inch adorable laser cut 3D ornaments, perfect for keeping or gifting during this hectic holiday season. Paint and stain any way you like. We'll be on hand to help as needed.
To accommodate your busy schedule, we're offering flexible workshop hours between 11 am and 7 pm on both days. Plan for a couple of hours to complete your project.
Included with your ticket is a comforting cup of coffee or cocoa.
Families are welcome; bring one child aged 8 or older per paying adult. We limit each project to two participants to ensure everyone's comfort.
For those seeking adult beverages, we offer a selection for purchase, including our unique "kicking" cocoa or coffee and various wine options. Sip while you create or take a bottle home with you to enjoy at another time.
In the mood to shop local? Our space can be a convenient location to #shoplocal. We'll have a variety of holiday favorites on hand: fire starters, wines, dip mixes, olive oils, soaps, steamers, bath bombs, jewelry, personalized gift options to order and even gift certificates.

Catty Shack Christmas Fundraiser
Join us for a meaningful day of crafting a personalized pet ornament(s) while supporting the mission of Catty Shack in Hamel, IL. If you or someone in your life is a cat lover, this event is a perfect opportunity to make a gift and make a difference.
Catty Shack is a unique, family-owned, volunteer-driven, cage-free, no-kill shelter that has been making a significant impact since 2017. With their unwavering dedication, they have transformed the lives of over 1800 cats, nursing them back to health and finding them loving forever homes. These passionate individuals are the real deal, and it's our pleasure to support their cause.
Two-thirds of the proceeds from this event will go directly toward helping them help our feline friends.
Here's how it works:
1. Reserve Your Ornaments: Rather than reserving spots for individuals, register for the number of ornaments you'd like to create. For instance, if you're attending alone but want to craft three ornaments, sign up for three spaces.
2. Customize Your Ornaments: During the registration process, you'll find a section labeled "Any comments or questions?" This is where you can specify your ornament choice and include your pet's name. Only one name per ornament please!
We will laser cut/engrave your ornaments and have them ready for you to paint/stain and assemble.
3. Crafting Day: Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 2nd, and feel free to drop by anytime between 11 am and 7 pm. Our friendly team will be there to guide you through the process of painting, staining, and assembling your ornaments. You can use any color of stain/paint so feel free to get creative!
Let's come together for a day of creativity and camaraderie to benefit our friends at Catty Shack. Your participation not only fills your heart, but also helps them continue their mission of providing care and shelter to cats in need.

What projects do you have available now
Our projects change seasonally, right now we have a variety of Christmas projects in addition to our regular projects – paintings, signs, door rounds, wood cutouts, interchangeables etc. The best thing to do is to come into our studio to see what is available or sign up for a workshop listed on our calendar.
I’m interested in learning basics of watercolor. Do you have a class? Cost?
We do classes in a variety of mediums. After the first of the year we plan to re-introduce watercolor. I am not sure the cost yet, but most of our classes are in the 25 to 35 price range and include all your materials.
Is there an easier way to find your classes than to scroll thru everything? You used to have it on a calendar which was way easier to find stuff
